My first day back visiting patients since my foot surgery. So off - TopicsExpress

My first day back visiting patients since my foot surgery. So off I go like a gimp. There isnt a shoe in my extensive collection the same height as the post-surgical shoe. Then, I go to push the car door open with my foot as usual - that was stupid. But I had three very wonderful visits. A Viet Nam veteran and his wife, listening to their shock at a very bad diagnosis and how they are coping. We prayed together before I left. Next stop a very old woman who seemed to be asleep. I touched her shoulder lightly and said her name. She opened her eyes, got a big, beautiful smile on her face, her eyes lit up, she reached her hand toward me and said, Mija? So, of course, I said, Si, Mamacita. And we had a conversation I understood about a third of, but she seemed happy. Last visit, a delightful elderly couple. The woman is my patient, but they both suffer from dimentia - she much more than he. He told me over and over again about the band he used to play with, so Ill bring my guitar next visit. She didnt say much, but she smiled a lot. They have an fascinating history over their long lives. So, thank you Lord for an easy, rewarding first day back.
