My first experience of a provincial schools sport event appropriately culminated with the final game of the tournament - coaches, umpires and administrators in a hit and giggle contest!! Which to me says a lot about the event - is the whole charade process from start to finish not mostly all about them and their egoes rather than the kids who seem really only to be bit part players in their show? Perhaps also offering a hint as to why our senior national teams continue to struggle in the international arena...?
