Cabinet note on changing MSME norms under preparation By Sanya Pandey New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) A cabinet note for changing the definitions of micro, small and medium enterprises is under preparation as the Government is keen on improving the manufacturing capabilities of the MSME sector, official sources said. There is need for reworking out the definition due to rise in cost of plant and machinery and other such factors. The meeting of Advisory Committee was held on October 9, 2014. A cabinet note for the same is under preparation, an official said. The MSMEs have been defined in the MSMED Act of 2006 based on investment in plant and machinery, excluding land.
