My firstborn turns 25 years old on this day……..The age I was when I gave birth to him! Notes from his baby book read – “Arrival day – 4:30 a.m woke up with crampy feeling, thought I might have a bug. Got up 6:30 with Dad & had breakfast. Kissed him goodbye for the day and he went to work. Beeped him on his pager at about 10am to take me for labor check. Labor check confirmed that things had started, sent to hospital.” 7/12/1989 Jason Robert Arena was born at Norwood Hospital, 9:46pm during the TV show Hooperman, starring John Ritter. 7lbs. 2 ¾ oz., 20” long. Dad said he looked like ET, Mom smiled & cried tears of joy. Both marveled at the full head of hair you were born with. The world in 1989 according to your baby book- Popular songs: Tom Petty, Free Falling, Stevie Nicks, Rooms on Fire, Rolling Stones opened Steel Wheels tour and play Sullivan Stadium 9/29, 10/1 & 10/3 to sold out shows. Big names in local sports are Wade Boggs, Red Sox, Larry Bird & Kevin McHale, Celtics and Mike Tyson, boxing…later came biting. Movies in theater: Dead Poets Society, Bat Man, Lethal Weapon II, Ghost Busters II & 007, License to Kill. Top TV shows are the Cosby Show, Cheers, Different World, Wonder Years & Roseanne. Neon colors are back in style, safety orange, hot pink, bright green, etc. This is ironic because 7-10 yrs later your nickname is highlight cause you love & wear neon colors.
