My former deceased room mate had me do all his finances. I used my email address with HIS name, for the electric bill. They keep sending me bills even though his family was supposed to take care of that. The email correspondence has been comical.I asked them to please remove my email now that he is DECEASED. This is the response from Duke Energy. Dear MS. Bryan, Thank you for contacting Duke Energy Florida. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you with removal of account from e bill as you are not the customer of record. We would ask that the customer of record contact Duke Energy directly regarding this matter. If the customer of record wishes to grant permission for another person to have authority to cancel service on his/her behalf, we would simply ask that the customer supply Duke Energy with a notarized Power of Attorney and enlarged copies of both partys photo ID. This information can be faxed to 1.888.829.9526 or emailed to ccstflorida@duke-energy. Please note that if you are currently an authorized user on the account, you have limited authority regarding changes to the account. Please note that if you are not currently an authorized user on the account, you may have the customer of record contact Duke Energy and have you added. I apologize for your inconvenience in this matter and hope you understand our desire to protect our customers account information and privacy. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reply to my e-mail or you may also call Customer Service Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, toll-free at 1.800.700.8744.
