My friend Christina told me the other day if I walked into your Gallery I would want to know about you, about the artist....well, here it is. Art and painting has been part of my life since my earliest memories. My grandfather in Germany and my three great uncles in Vienna were artists. One of my earliest memories is the need to document my feelings and experiences in paint. Growing up in Europe in a family of artists I was exposed to many different art forms, music, visual arts, sculpture and dance. My passion for painting has always been there it is in my blood, it is my salvation and my chosen mode of communication. I remember being taken to the opera or the Albertina in Vienna and the Louvre in Paris. I have seen various castles in Europe with amazing art and have watched street painters in Italy,Paris, Madrid and Hungary with a childs fascination of the extraordinary. I have touched the works of Gustav Klimt and was mesmerized by the flow of his brush . I have stood in awe of the light in Rembrandts paintings, and have been enchanted by the dimension and emotion in the works of Van Gogh and by the minute detail in Albrecht Durers drawings. As any artist I have a love for those gone before me and have embarked on my own journey in paint. I have been blessed with no fear of the outcome and a natural freedom to just paint what I feel like painting. I am often asked what do you paint? I struggle with an answer, because it cant be contained, there are no words. The closest I can come is to tell you that I take pieces of all there is and capture them like a photograph. It is not only about the picture but the emotion in it and the spirit that created all. I paint what moves me, what is now. It is like stepping into the beauty, vastness and vitality of being, The muses are always there. I do have an affinity for the mystical and spiritual, the forces that manage your lessons of truth. I try to capture those moments, a sense of connection with life greater than I had ever thought possible. Everyone will always have a piece of their life that is unknowable, unsolvable; here you can stop and see the beauty of existence. There is a certain healing quality in art and I hope my positive intentions stir your emotions.
