My friend Eroc Arroyo-Montano reminded of my days of being a cheerleader for The Voice. This one artist, Nicholas David, was my favorite because he sang music that wasnt necessarily popular with America because its not current. However, for me, it is music for the Soul and its music that we need. His rendition of Whats Going On? spoke to me. We need more music like that. There is so much stuff going on in this world today that it seems like we have taken 10...20...a million giant steps backwards. I didnt quite understand the songs when I was a kid. It was my mothers music not realizing that it was the Peoples Music. Now, if we could find some artists that want to do the work that God gave them the talent to do...feed the mind and the soul and not their pockets. Ill be right here waiting for you. I grew up in a time that you had to search for Black music on the radio. Kiss 108 was the new station... WRKO smh. Now, I wish they would take some of it off. #tunedout https://youtube/watch?v=ylRU6vJ-d7M
