My friend Stacey Blubaugh is in Uganda and I was reminded of the privilege of sharing shoes! Shoes Before I closed my eyes last night I ask God what I could do I want to be a part of missions What has this to do with shoes. What difference could a pair of shoes Possibly ever make It’s hardly worth my time If that’s all I have to take. I closed my eyes went off to sleep The next thing that I knew I was walking on rough ground Without a pair of shoes. My feet were aching and they burned Were blistered and quite rough How would I make this journey My feet, they were not tough. I found myself standing Outside of the school I couldn’t go inside there Shoes were an important tool. In the next scene I was at church To worship, what a pleasure Then I looked at my bare feet Shoes would be such a treasure. I walked away and found myself At the local store Couldn’t wait to go inside But, I saw a note on the door. Welcome all to enter in Shoes are required inside Tears were running down my face I had no where to hide. I turned to walk away again I scurried with such haste I ran into a man With a towel round His waist. He washed my feet Dried them with care Then my precious Lord Gave me shoes to wear. I woke from my time of sleep I had important things to do I went on my first mission trip To buy a pair of shoes. By: Kim Staggs © 2010
