So all the evidence is in. Racism in America has never left it had only been arrested. Now with our 2 term black president and all of the great things that Black People have done and produced in this land, we are still the lowest on the pecking order. Millions of immigrants have landed on these shore where we toiled long before the Mayflower and with a steady steam they march past us and assimilate into the great melting pot of white America. I grew up in the most wonderful and amazing time this land has known. We overcame yall, just like the plan. Anybody remember The Talented Tenth? The idea that the brightest and the best of us would lead the way. Open the doors and the flood gates of opportunity would wash us into our first class citizenship status. We rose with Maya, overcame with King and found the one in Obama. Yet we are still just a bunch of animals to still millions of white people who benefit from the geniuos of a black persons enormous contribution to our American way of life every day, every day, every minute of their lives. We are the ones who are still here. Its on us people what do we do now? Most of the Talented Tenth, married white women and moved to the suburbs. They left the hood and never looked back....this guy named O.J. Simpson comes to mind for some reason. Oh yea he turned out to be the proof the white people had been looking for, See they are all just mad men and killers. When his money kept him out of jail. Their whole system of justice had been turned on its ear. Rodney King set us to riot, and now Ferguson Mo. with its new Black Chief, he was a Captain on the force with 3 black officers, in a town that is 60 to 80% black, (depending on whos reporting). We are still under the boot of brutal police who mace and shoot black people at will and a justice system that sees all of us the same and our precious baby boys as valueless. We kill one another at an alarming rate and refuse to take responsibility for our mistakes. We lack honesty with ourselves and still wont go to school. I am a woman of great faith and I call on those of us who are capable to help change a young black mans attitude from one of despair to hope. I cant tell you who to touch or how. Figure that out for your selves. But do something, not for someone you know but for a real thug who scares the hell out of you. Show them a little bit of kindness, help them in a meaningful way. try and touch their heart, do or say something to make them feel good about who they are. After you do that find someone else and spread some real love. It starts now!
