My friend and fellow musician Larry Weber died this Christmas Eve. He left behind his wife of many years and my friend Field along with lots of family and friends who loved him. In 1990 Larry, Nicole Falzone and I started our band, Red Van Go. Once a week we met at Larry’s house. We would rehearse and write new music, which Larry always recorded. Every week the headphones crackled and worked intermittently. Every week Larry would send our recordings out to radio stations, unedited, mistakes and all for their consideration. Larry thought art was in the moment, spontaneous and unedited. He also lived his life much the same way. I learned to think way outside the box playing with Larry. I learned to follow his musical left turns that were rarely signaled. The three of us created some wonderful music over three years, put out a CD and did two very memorable tours of Japan. He was a creative force and he played his guitar with wild abandon that inspired his audience as well as those who played with him. He was defiant in life living by his own code. I was fortunate to have known him and to have shared a creative journey together. He left music that will continue to inspire those who hear it and memories that will make us laugh and smile. I will miss you Larry! Fly high:~) https://youtube/watch?v=i6Ktm82x4lQ
