My friend and political myopian Jeff Lacy asked me if I had any - TopicsExpress

My friend and political myopian Jeff Lacy asked me if I had any political discussions aboard my recent culturally enlightening trip to Atlanta aboard the Megabus. All in all, it was a good experience...a comfortable ride, nice AC, reclining seats, did some solid napping along the way. I also got in a few more chapters of The Sins of the Father....Joseph Kennedy and the Dynasty he Founded. He was not a good dude but its an interesting read in market manipulation, insider trading, bigotry, infidelity and Nazi sympathizing. Originally, I intended to keep these exchanges to myself. But in the interest of entertainment, Ill share them with you. Dont hate me because of the truth. One lady, who repeatedly referred to the POTUS as Ibama bin Laden said a law should be passed requiring a black man run for president. Her rationale? Cuz black people will vote for a black man. If there aint no black running for president, we aint gonna vote no how. Another lady thought all her bus rides...Megabus, city bus, any bus she chose...should be free. Her rational? I got six kids...I cant afford no bus. When I asked if she was getting support from her husband...I aint got no husband and men aint no good anyway...then proceeded to rattle off some incoherent babble about how each of the 4 baby daddies were either in jail or unemployed. Two of the kids fathers were unknown. Thankfully, none of the six were with her. One gentleman, who seemed like he REALLY had his finger in the pulse if the American political process, said he thought Obama should be allowed to stay in office as long as he wants...no further presidential elections until Obama decides hes ready to retire. Hes taking care of black people. We was slaves for 400 years. Now we finally getting paid for it. I aint gotta work, I get my welfare check, unemployment and food stamps. Im about to get disability too. If me or my kids gets sick we go to the emergency room and it dont cost us nothing. One white guy complained (it was a hushed, almost mumbling complaint) he shouldnt have to sit next to a black person since there were other seats available. I didnt want to sit anywhere near the guy until he got more familiar with some soap and deodorant. I cant be sure, but I think he shoplifted a couple items during our stop in Tifton. Beautiful place that Tifton GA. Make it a stop on your next trip to/ from Atlanta. All these exchanges were unsolicited, just came up in casual conversation. In a move that is completely against my nature, I didnt see the need to try and have any type of meaningful dialogue. Its also worth noting I had a couple normal conversations. But its comforting to know these people believe our country is FINALLY on the right track.
