My friend who moved from Namibia some years ago recently asked if I would add one of his boyhood friends (who still resides in Namibia) on Facebook because he was curious about my stance on religion. For the last month we have been messaging regularly, often involving him asking questions and myself providing answers. Yesterday the topic was the eternal battle between god and satan. I woke up with the message I have chosen my god to worship based on the teachings of the bible. Being that this man has been very cordial and understanding of my stance, I decided to offer him a question based in the context of his bible, within the boundaries of his own logic, and Im feeling like I just bombed Namibia. This was my response: What if the god you worship is actually Satan? Afterall, he is the master deceiver. In this conversation I have outlined for you the actions according to your bible carried out by both God and Lucifer. Many of Gods actions could be considered evil, while those of Satan could be considered righteous. So, if God and the Devil are real, is it possible in the realm of biblical fantasy - that Satan has deceived you all in to worshiping him over your own chosen God, Yahweh? Would it not be the mark of the master manipulator to turn you against the one supernatural entity who could save you from his clutches? Satan needs more minions, afterall. What better way to garner supporters than to trick them in to thinking hes the good guy, worthy of worship? In biblical context, is it not entirely possible that the king of lies has fooled you in to doing his bidding? Dont worry, neither of the two exist, but if they did how could you be sure this was not the case? Just a couple of things for you to consider when you formulate your questions about my lack of belief. This is from a page i follow lol this is GREAT
