My friends,James 2:17-26 is Misunderstood by Most Catholics.. Nearly every Catholic I meet sincerely, but ignorantly, runs to James words... Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works (James 2:18). Carefully notice that James said, I will SHEW THEE my faith, not God. 1st Samuel 16:7 tells us that man can only look on the outward appearance, but God looks upon the heart. Thus, with men we can only be justified by WORKS, because they cannot see our heart; however, with God we are justified by FAITH alone. James 2:21 reads, Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Carefully notice that Abraham offered up Isaac in Genesis chapter twenty-two! However, Genesis 15:6 records Abrahams salvation... And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness (see Romans 4:3-5). Hence, Paul speaks of the ROOT of Abrahams faith in Romans 4:3-5; but James speaks of the FRUIT of Abrahams faith in James 2:18. Abraham didnt need to offer up Isaac (a work) to be saved. Abraham was saved by faith alone in Genesis 15:6. It was Abrahams faith that caused him to offer up Isaac, which justified him in the eyes of men. Salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8,9). Again God hates the Catholic Church! Isaiah 42:8 states... I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. God says He will NOT share glory and praise due only to Him. Yet, who gets the praise in every Rosary recital? Who gets the praise when Catholics are bowing to statues of Mary? Who gets the praise from all the pictures and statues of Mary in Catholics homes, and on their desks at work? Everywhere we turn we see Mary, Mary, Mary; while Jesus is forgotten. Catholics say they love Jesus, but their actions deny their words... This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men (Matthew 15:8). I ask you if youre a Catholic... Does the Catholic Church teach for doctrines the commandments of men? Yes, they irrefutably do! Jesus said that Catholics worship God IN VAIN. God hates false worship, false prophets, and false religion. Psalm 119:104, Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. The problem is that most people would rather trust the words of men, than SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES themselves as Jesus commanded in John 5:39. Whens the last time your priest, or the Pope, encouraged you to search the Scriptures? Never? They dont want you to learn the truth! Priests only quote certain portions of Scripture to support THEIR doctrines, but those same buzzards avoid the majority of Scriptures, which condemn their manmade traditions. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. -Romans 4:5
