My friends and colleagues who are both Black and disabled live very different realities than I do. They are infinitely more vulnerable to police brutality than I will ever be. If I dont acknowledge the enormous role that anti-black racism has in our entire social system, Im throwing every one of my Black friends and colleagues under the bus by ignoring the continued onslaught of violence against them and people who look like them. I deeply admire the work of people like Leroy Moore and Talila TL who have fought for years against the particularly pernicious intersection of racism and ableism that targets disabled people of color, but most especially disabled Black people. Im committed to doing whatever I can as a non-Black person of color to support Black people working to end state violence against your communities. My liberation will never be complete without yours.
