My friends and coworkers saw fit to honor me today at lunch with the most touching tribute one could have. I had no idea anything of that magnitude was planned. Mr. Bobby Waldrop, the original supt. for whom I worked, Bob Fountain former county engineer, Ken Sheets former county engineer and Dave Fortson current Macon-Bibb engineer all spoke. I was presented with very large photo collages of images through the years, a large matted and framed business card of mine surrounded by signatures of all my coworkers and a gift card with which I purchased a large barrel grill/smoker. Did I deserve any of these touching acts? Probably not. Was I overwhelmed with emotion and very appreciative of their collective love and thoughtfulness? 100% YES!! I will sorely miss this great group. I am at T-minus one day. Tomorrow will be the last day I walk through the doors at Knight Road as an employee and the Superintendent.
