My goodness. The most impressive part of Oregons dismantling of Florida State in the Rose Bowl? Most teams run out the clock by standing around for 30 seconds. Oregons super-fast offensive tempo is so ingrained in the players that in the 4th quarter, they would be set for the next play after 10 seconds...and the entire team (save the QB) remained set and motionless for a full 20 seconds while the play clock ran down. Even when theyre trying to waste time, Oregons offensive players look like sprinters in the blocks, waiting for the starters pistol. Now THAT is discipline. (The video is four years old, but it explains a bit of that tempo logic.)
