My grandma Evelyns favorite color was purple. My college alma maters colors are purple and white. The bridesmaid dresses at my wedding were purple. Today I am wearing purple with a purpose, on the first ever World Pancreatic Cancer Day, to remember those taken too soon by pancreatic cancer, to honor those fighting it now, and to help raise awareness. Awareness stomps out apathy, leads to attention by people with skill and power, and leads to better outcomes through increased funding for research. There was nothing I could do to save Charlie, but someday a diagnosis like his wont be as awful as it is today. #WageHope
