My heart goes out to Grayson Bruce and his family. People can be obscenely cruel to others for a multitude of reasons. Be it income level, where they are from, their accent, their weight, their height, and even their physical or mental handicap. I am appalled at how poorly this little Bronies school handled this situation. It is a ludicrous, moronic, and cowardly way to deal with a bullying problem. For those of you that are unaware, (or do not know what a Bronie is) Grayson happens to be a fan of the cartoon series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. A series that I support and am also fan of. It pains me that this little dude can have such a tender heart, and truly enjoy a wholesome thing, only to be ridiculed and attacked. He brought a lunch box to school with him that featured characters from the series. Contrary to what most people think, the new series Friendship is Magic is not targeted towards the little girl demographic. They created it to be accessible to everyone, no exact demographic lines were ever drawn. The show teaches the values of friendship and trust, something that these bullies mustve skipped out on. Now, we could go on for days about how we can try to put an end to bullying. The sad fact of the matter is, we cannot. It will always be a part of life, from the school yard to the office space. But what we can do is teach our next generation to love and understand on another, and to be tolerant of other peoples choices and preferences. I stand in solidarity with Grayson, and would appreciate it if some of my friends would do the same.
