My heart is saddened by the loss of Richard Stromberg He was more than my first photography teachers in 2003. He was my friend, mentor, client and a father figure when I was having some troubles, transitions, growing pains and happy times in life. He was honest, whether you wanted to hear it or not. He told me he was a witness to my life and helped me believe in myself and my choices about my environment. He taught me life lessons that blended into the ways and beliefs that will stay with me through my own life. I remember I had quit my job and walked by the center where he was at. The sign said Black and White Photography. I jumped headfirst into the program, became a donor and began volunteering like a mad lady, became a professional photographer and my first show with him and his community within 9 mos. He loaned me lenses and equipment without a worry throughout the years. . 3 questions about the photos during our critiques. I use it in everyday in my life too. 1. What do you like about the photo? What do you not like about it? 3. What would you change about it? I am glad that your pain is gone and I know you will still watch over many of us. I will miss our talks, guidance and love that you showed me. You and your dry sense of humor, which not all got it, will be missed.
