My heart is weighing a 5000+ lbs today upon hearing that my son has lost another very good friend this past weekend to the horribly sad and tragic act of suicide. Another. As in more than a few. Friends. Gone. Forever. Michael seemed a good hearted, very friendly, nice 20 yr old kid who was obviously a young man of good character and well loved by the people who knew him and chose to be close to him as did my son Matt. It hurts me so deeply to think that someone so young can believe life to be so hopeless and devastating as to feel and act upon the need to exit this world where there honestly and truly does exist vast resolutions of hope, love and peace to whatever problems, confusions or doubts about life a person may have in their mind or heart. Please, please, please believe me when I say that there is ALWAYS hope available and there is ALWAYS someone else (likely very, many people) who have suffered the EXACT same hardships, experiences, hopelessness, loneliness, addictions, problems or depression that tries to drag us into the dark abyss of no return, which is death. These demons of suicide are not selective. They would have all of us if they could. You must be strong willed and consider yourself a warrior of many to fight these demons of despair. The victorious are those who keep faith, hope and love as the strongest values of their lives. And the greatest of these are love. Please REACH OUT FOR HELP!! To other people, friends, family, groups, books. Hell... Talk to pets, your dog, cat, a tree in the park... Whatever. Just REACH OUT!! PLEASE!!
