My hubby Received his RPP statement, he was so excited that he had so much money there already, until I did a ballpark calculation. If he decided to work another 22 years and quadruple his RPP and if he wants a pension payment equivalent to his current income, His RPP will only sustain for 9 years. He is already achy breaky right now I cannot imagine him going for another 22 years thank God for GWT he can actually retire this year if he wants to. I dont know what is more horrid having to work another 22 yrs. or having your RPP only sustained you for 9 yrs after 40 long years of working and contributing into it. Hmmmm! Now if you factor inflation into the mix, it might even shorter than 9 years. Now it is clear why people go from retirement to worktirement and why senior seniors are counting pennies, instead of setting the heat properly they set it low to save on heating cost. I better stop this sound so depressing. Anyway have a great weekend everyone and if you dont have RPP at work then start thinking of planB so you dont freeze your senior citizens behind :)
