My hubby cleaned & lubricated my Brother Duetta 4500D Embroidery machine today, so I thought I would share what he used to do this professional cleaning. Im still amazed at how quiet & fluid my machine is running today. I think its running better than it ever has. If your embroidery unit squeals and/or jumps to different areas on your embroidery, ruining your stitch out, it may be time to service your machine. If you are not confident in doing this, please have your machine serviced routinely. You know how your embroidery machine sounds better than anyone. If it sounds off to you, its time for service! Repairs for damaged parts due to little or no proper lubrication can cost a fortune. Take care of your baby!! White Lithium Grease was used on the gears in the embroidery unit. This is a safe grease to lubricate the gears. It prevents friction & rust, and it also protects against oxidation & moisture. The Dry Lube made with PTFE was used on all the rails & sliding surfaces in the embroidery unit. It gives a superior, long lasting lubrication, its safe to use on any surface...even plastic, and it does not contain Silicone.
