My husband and I were just reminiscing about the cold, rainy night - TopicsExpress

My husband and I were just reminiscing about the cold, rainy night we brought Nutmeg, formerly Violet Rose home. It was December 27th 2011. It seems like yesterday. We drove down the Mass Pike to Sturbridge Ma to meet the couple who drove her up from Maryland. She was a bit underweight and looked so tired. She joined my Ginger in the car, and rested her chin on my arm for the whole hour and a half ride home. She had a good meal and a warm bath, then fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow and I tucked her in. She was still lactating when we got her, and my husband and I had to laugh at my grand childrens reaction to her nozzles as my grand daughter called them. My grand son was immensely impressed that she had nine boobies! LOL! Ginger is gone over the rainbow bridge (last March) and we now have Gwen Mocha Cookies Provencher. It has not been easy between she and Nutmeg, but we have a great system for handling them both now. The house is quiet at the moment...the girls are tucked in upstairs for their afternoon nap. GMCP in her cocoon in her crate, and Nutmeg snuggled into the immense pile of dog beds, comforters, throw pillows and stuffed animals on the bedroom floor. I cant imagine life without hounds. I want to say a special thank you to the ABTCR, and to the fosters and transporters who make wonderful moments like this a reality for so many hounds, and us, their people. Thank you....
