My husband tweeted this. I am not a DJ but I am also part of this industry somehow. It is only right that Local and Resident DJs be given as much value as foreign and/or guest DJs. I frequented dance clubs during my haydays. I went to clubs for the vibe, and the company. Clubs dont really get filled up just because of the DJs ALONE, always a combination of ambience, crowd, music and a handful of marketing genius! The bigger part is always about Marketing, branding, PR. If you want your club to make noise, you dont rely on the DJ alone. Guest DJs, local or foreign, are not really the only crowd-pullers you know. Fix your place up, offer attractive rates, superior customer service, get a great marketing and PR team, play great music and make sure you have a good hypeman to make sure the crowd gets going!
