My hypothesis at 2am: Your perspective on the world is evident through the music that you listen to. Many people listen to music with lyrics. However, many people do not find the boundaries between their personal life, relationships, experiences, etc...Therefore, they listen to music by artists that can result in a form of escapism from their own reality. Just like the way a person is brought up in a family with broken relationships ( and usually has to overcome a conscious threshold to know things can be changed and relearned), a person can be brought up with music that can shape a persons cognitive perspective and can even create a blindness of an ultimate, universal reality and a deep,personal human moral structure that also needs to reach a threshold. Beyond an individuals level, this could also influence the formality of societys shared consciousness and evolution. So, even those really good love songs that one listens to can be detrimental because its all illusion of another persons form of affection. Even those rap songs about men being in love but then leaving their true love for success and more women can be detrimental because it is an excused illusion. Whinny music allows a person to sulk in sadness instead of pursue a conversation or a step to have a better, healthier emotion again. Music as a skill and art is great...but who are you without the music that you listen to?
