My imagine: The teacher was passing out papers in English class. “Can we have a round of applause for Mr. Cody Simpson? He was the only kid in class who got an A+ on his essay.” Everyone clapped for Cody and he looked down with bright red cheeks. You clapped to, but quietly because you didn’t want to give away the crush you had on him. The teacher handed you your paper, A-, pretty good. When she handed out the last essay she went to the front of the classroom and fixed her blouse. “In the previous papers we’ve written many of you expressed to feelings at all. The goal of this essay was to show me emotion. A good portion of you talked about a loss in your life, thank you for sharing that with me. But above all the papers, I found one that stood out. This essay is about love, passion, intensity. In fact if you could, Cody, I’d like you to read your paper to the class. You grasped the goal of this assignment and I’d appreciate it if you read your paper to the class.” Cody nodded and slowly rose from his seat. He walked to the front of the class while his fellow football teammates cheered him on. He smirked and cleared his throat, he let out a sigh. “Every single night; I think of you when I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. I wonder what you’re doing, or if you’re thinking about me to. I dream about you often, about you and I. When I pass you in the hallways, I get nervous butterflies. When I try to smile at you, you quickly look down, I never know why. We’ve done a school project together, but we’ve never had a real conversation. I wish I had the courage to talk to you, but I always shy away. When I see you I get chills that ripple down my spine; I just wish I knew how you felt. You’re in the majority of my classes, yet we barely speak to each other. When the teacher chooses project or lab partners, I sit here with my fingers crossed. She never puts me with you, but I always hope she will.” Cody looked away from his paper, cutting off what he’d written. “Even now, as I read in front of the class, I feel a tingle in my heart, wondering if you’ve yet realized this paper is written about you.” All the girls looked around, hoping they were the subject of his emotion, yet he locked eyes with you. As Cody opened his mouth, the bell rang; students were out the door in seconds. Cody grabbed his stuff and walked over to you; his cheeks, like yours, were bright red. “Would you want to walk to Study Hall with me?” You nodded, smirking, “That sounds great Cody. Was that entire thing…about me?” He bit the inside of his cheek, “Yeah. I hope it’s okay with you that I wrote that.” You smiled, “I love it, thank you. Do you want to know something?” “Sure, what?” You drew a long breath, “I actually wrote my paper about you.” Cody smiled, is if all his fears were gone. “I can’t even believe it, I’ve been so nervous around you, and you’ve been the same way.” You nodded laughing. Cody held his hand out and you instinctively reached out, grabbing it, and you felt like you were on top of the world. As you walked down the hallway hand-in-hand, neither of you could stop smiling; everything was insanely perfect. ~Kami
