My laptop is running on some emrgency circuit now. Ive lost WORD so I cant write and the disc drive broke so I had to buy a 3,000yen DVD player. I need to buy a new computer for work. FILMS WATCHED: THE MASTER (It feels like the director tossed Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix in a room with a bottle of scotch and left the building. Lots of screaming and shouting. Rudderless and annoying) 3/10 50/50 (Joseph Gordon-Levitt is excellent as the cancer-stricken patient and the film is tastefully and masterfully directed by xxxxxxxx, who injects perfectly weighted layers of humour) 8/10 25TH HOUR (This Spike Lee joint about drug dealer Edward Norton facing a long jail term is not as cool as it thinks it is. Hoffman acts in this too. Still highly watchable though) 7/10 THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT (The premise of someone - due to a brain defect - being able to bounce back and fore in time might be dumb. The trying to create a perfect situation by changing history only to make the situation worse is the on-running theme. Life is never perfect the obvious lesson) 7.5/10 LOVELY BONES (Told from a murdered childs perpective rather than focusing on the serial child killer. Creepy - obviously -, but enthralling, life-after-death family melodrama, with the afterlife the usual psychedlic brightfields, flowers etc. Spielberg is involved in producing, Mark Wahlberg stars - generally good signs) 8/10 RESERVOIR DOGS (I wasnt in a very good mood yesterday so I watched this Tarantino pulp fest) 8/10
