My last post was the cumulative result of hearing people this week expressing how they were offended by something, and reading online how many people were offended by other things. There are legitimately offensive things in the world. But I feel like lately society is looking for things to be offended over. These are the things people found offensive this week. 1- a woman was breast feeding her child in a restaurant. She was completely covered. Another WOMAN complained to her it was inappropriate and offensive. 2- people classifying Shia Labeouf dancing with a young girl in the Sia video as a pedophile, and saying the video is offensive. 3- I lightly smacked little peters hand and told him NO when he scratched his face while having a temper tantrum. A woman told me I should be ashamed of myself hitting a disabled person, she was offended by my action. 4- a man walked up to a woman that had her dog in a dog sweater and shoes. He proceeded to tell her how offensive it is to dress an animal up and that she doesnt deserve to be a..ready for it? Pet Guardian. 5- a mother had her baby wrapped in some sort of body sling. A black man in line behind me was offended an said there goes another white culture vulture. Stealing from African heritage for fashion. Argh.... Im all for fighting for justice, equality, human and animal rights etc., but its sliding so far into pettiness that I just cant take it.
