My latest response to my BBB report. We have been fighting Sears for 11 months over a dishwasher that does not work. They have already replaced it and now want to repair the brand new replacement for the 3rd time and refuse to give us a refund and return the dishwasher... Sears has already offered a replacement dishwasher before going backward and saying they were going to repair the valve. The valve is brand new. The dishwasher has been run two times since it was installed with the exact same symptoms before it was replaced. Water does not spray into the unit. There is so little water that the door doesnt even get wet. The same repairman has been to our house at least six times and never fixes the problem. He said this time its corrosion. We have had brand new lines installed when the original dishwasher was installed last November. The dishwasher has hardly been run since IT DOES NOT WORK. We have never had corrision or hard water build up with our previous dishwasher or other appliances such as our drinking water system or our refrigerator system. He did not test or run the dishwasher at all before he left as he claims. He installed it, got up, asked me to take the survey on his computer and left. Thse appointments keep requiring us to take time off work, The repairman shows up late or does not show up at all, and then leaves without fixing the problem. Sears does not seem to care that we have spent over a dozen days home waiting on repairs and service calls in the past 11 months and we still do not have a functioning dishwasher. They are now refusing to refund us because its past the return window. It would seem that the ethical and right thing to do would be to serve the customer. I am only asking for a refund because we have reached a point that we have cannot take any more time off work to stay home for service calls. Sears does not care that this is effecting both our home and work lives and we have spent days and dollars dealing with two seperate appliaces that still do not work. Sears is also closing stores all over the country. The continued problems weve had with our dishwasher combined with their failing business has me concerned that future problems with our appliance will not be addressed properly, as in 11 months since the purchase of our dishwasher, we still do not have a working, functional dishwasher. Then, without our knowledge or permission they schedule a service appointment to have a valve replaced AFTER they had already promised a new dishwasher. No one knows whats going on in this company and our family has been victim to it for 11 months. We cannot take off any more days of work. We are requesting a refund and a return of the dishwasher we have in order to working dishwasher purchased from another store. I am willing and prepared to take SEARS to small claims court with damanges for time lost and damaged shall they continue to fight a simple return and refund. I have no doubt that we will win as weve documented all service calls, I have all voicemails saved, including several that contradict themselves, emails that contradict themselves from our case managers and a complete diary kept online of every interaction weve had.
