My library system has three branches and I am the lone youth services librarian for the entire county. My current programming consists of Toddler Time & Preschool Storytimes, but I would really like to offer something for school age & teen patrons this fall as well. I did manage to do a school age/teen weekly program over the course of our Summer Reading Program (alternating weeks for K-5 & teen), but it was definitely a stretch and I don’t think I could sustain the pace year round in addition to my other assigned responsibilities. Is anyone else in this predicament? I would love to hear some suggestions on how other YS librarians have addressed this challenge. Also, if anyone has ideas for popular programs for this age range, I’m all ears! Thank you in advance, you ninjas are the best!
