My mom always let me be who I was... way back when. I was such a tomboy that I wanted to wear boys black goulashes (I cant spell that right... you know... the old snow boots of the 50s?) like my brother. Kids at school thought I was a bit strange, but my mom never did. In high school my mom made me felt shoes that looked like I had sandals on, but had no bottom so I was barefoot. It broke school rules, but my mom didnt care. She also made me my Captain Zap cape (purple and gold with a lightening bolt!) and we bought the rest of the outfit together. Then I wore it to high school classes on random days. She got as big a big kick out of it as I did! I dont think I realized what an AWESOME mom she was. THANKS MOM!!! I know you are listening!!
