My mother Madelyn in the gallery, standing in front of my portrait - TopicsExpress

My mother Madelyn in the gallery, standing in front of my portrait of her granddaughter Grace. She tells the story of how she and her cousin Sheila came to own their houses in Provincetown. In their true feminist and entrepreneurial spirit, they bought multi family houses together, one in the East End and one in the West End, without telling their husbands much more than they needed to know. In each end of town they hustled to make to a safe, enriching community for their families with artists, writers, performers and fishermen. Every summer we were exposed to something different and exciting and we went back to school more alive and inspired. Grateful.
