My mother loved telling me this story that Im about to share. The day we left the hospital after I was born, our family-friend drove us home. I was all my mother had and she was all I had in this world. As we sat in the back seat myself being in the car seat all bundled up and my mother looking fashionable beautiful sitting right next to her own flesh and blood. Not knowing what was in stored in our lives but just knowing we had each other was all we needed. My little hand was in her hand. I grabbed with all might onto her pinky and held on. She immediately understood with that grab that I was ready for the ride of my lifetime no words were needed to be spoken to understand. The action was clear as day. To this day it has been nothing short of that for the past 25 years. Although, she will not be present on this earth for my next 25 years. I can definitely say mom, Im ready for the ride of my lifetime!
