My name is Brandon, and im a PC I was just thinking of how big of a computer geek ive been all my life. ===================================================== > my first PC experience was on a commadore 64 at my friends house. > The first PC that I owned (well my dad.. but I played on it) had an intel 8088 in it. blazing fast speed of 5mhz processor! I remember owning a 386 and 486 machines after that. > DOS was my first operating system. I preferred it over windows 3.1 because I could type the command line stuff faster and games ran better in it. > I used to log on to bulletin board systems through telnet to download text adventure games... > i would rar games onto a bunch of 1.44mb floppy disks to let my friends borrow them. > I remember getting an external soundblaster sound card for my computer then playing wolfenstein 3d and being amazed at the sound quality. > I remember getting home from school one day and watching my dad play this new game called doom. I was blown away with the graphics. > My favorite store to go into at the mall was Software ETC. > I was a trackball user for a longtime before switching to a mouse. > Celeron 300 to 450 overclock?!?! OH MAN! > I built my first PC, start to finish, when I was 11 years old. > I taught myself how to program in Visual Basic when I was in 8th grade so I could write AOL APPZ and TOS Fooz > Command & Conquer, Descent, Doom / Doom 2, Quake, Warcraft 2: TOD, Lost Vikings, Duke Nukem 3d, Rise of the Triad, Monkey Island Series, Wing Commander, Quake. > My parents got me my own phone line so I could play warcraft and doom against my friends without tying up the phone line. > I used altavista as my preferred search engine. > Netscape was the internet browser I used to use.
