My name is Hadrig. PLEASE ADOPT ME! E-mail [email protected] to adopt me! I am 2 years and 5 months old and have been at Soi Dog, Phuket, Thailand since I was just 3 months. I was found with my four brothers and sisters in a rubber plantation. With no-one feeding us we faced starvation. We were so lucky when the kind people at Soi Dog collected us in their van and brought us to the shelter to live. I am a sweet girl but I am a little timid in my run. I love human affection and when the volunteers approach me I get so excited! I start wagging my tail and smiling and I so enjoy the attention. Sadly, as I am so timid, the other dogs pick on me when this happens. They get jealous and put me back in my place. For this reason I do not encourage the people to pet me; I do not jump up at the volunteers and beg to be noticed like the other dogs do. I just sit at the rear of the kennel and wait to be approached. Even then, I keep a fearful eye on the other dogs just in case one of them decides to turn on me. I really do not deserve this because I am never mean to anyone, but that’s just the way it is when you live in a large pack. There will always be a weaker dog who gets bullied. I just wish it was not me. I have an ongoing skin complaint which, while being treated, has affected my fur. I have lost some of it in places. I really hope this does not put people off when they are looking to adopt a new dog. I may not have the prettiest coat in here but the volunteers tell me I have a very pretty face, a kind smile and a gentle nature. I think these qualities are just as important in a dog. I hope you agree. It would be a dream come true for me to find a loving home where I can just relax and enjoy some human affection and kindness without the fear of being bullied.
