My name is Hussain. My quest is to seek the holy grail. My favourite colour is Green. Kind of late the game with my introduction, but oh well. If you came to Orientation, then you probably saw me, or heard me attempting to whip my Rebulus kinsmen into a shouting frenzy. REBULI! TILL I DIE! Im unfortunately pretty conspicuous, which puts a dent into any ninja aspirations. I walk around with a long stick thats wrapped in reflective white and red tape. Its called a white cane, and I use it to help me navigate around obstacles. Lets get this out of the way first, to make room for more important stuff. Im legally blind. I have been since birth, due to a hereditary retinal disorder (Lebers congenital amaurosis, for the medically curious). I have a very minimal amount of vision, enough to perceive light and the general shape of objects that are large and close enough. Imagine looking at the world through several layers of a shere black scarf, and you have a general idea of how much I can see. If you want more details, feel free to come up and ask me questions. I dont bite unless you want me to! So, about me. Where to begin... I am a carbon-based complex organism, made up of matter-energy constituents birthed during the initial cosmic expantion, that has, through aeons of selective reproduction, evolved an unparallelled capacity for cognition, and endonymically refered to as human. Ah, but I here you sigh, and say that you werent asking what I am, but rather, posing the fundamental question of identity. What distinguishes me, from the teaming masses of other carbon lifeforms? In which case, I point out that you need merely read into my response to answer that as well. Clearly, I write rather pretentiously. Unashamedly so, in fact. I am a descendant of, as one of my favourite characters puts it, the line of Francis Bacon and the blood of the enlightenment. I am a student of the human condition, and an inquisitor of the universe. I swear, Im not this pretentious in person, just in text. So, overview asside, some nitty gritty details. Im a dirty hippie commy. Substances: Im sustained by an endless flow of tea and words. Animals: Very cute, and sadly absent from my life currently. I might be getting a guide dog over the winter though! Favourite Movie: V for Vendetta! I can recite Vs introduction by heart, on demand. DPS is also pretty awesome. Hobbies/Talents: reading HP fanfiction, writing poetry, trying out new things, singing badly Disposition: Im pretty introverted, but I love meeting and interacting with people.
