My narrative of cabo race.. My narrative....,The swim like I said before was like fresh fish being thrown into a pool of sharks the mass start thing was ridiculous. I started upfront to the edge figured my Mma training would help me at some point if needed. One guy tried to drown me so I grabbed his wetsuit and pulled him back and kicked as hard as I could to let him know I dont that play that shit. Then when I got kicked in the nose I thought oh shit if its broken Im not going to be able to finish this swim, the pain passed quickly. It never calmed down it seemed like a fester the whole swim I I managed to move to the inside for a while with a guy and swam comfortably until the end. Swam 1:09, which was good for me but the swim was probably a little short since everyones tine was short. The Bike ....I knew driving the course the ride was going to be tough. I rode part of the course and tried to convince myself its not as hard as it looks but after the first lap I struggled to keep positive. Then the burning on the bottom of my foot and the scorching sun ( over 93) hitting my shoulders made it unbearable. My all so light helmet felt like I was carrying a 20lb medicine ball on my head it made my neck so tight. I grabbed water and poured it on my shoulders to release the sunburn I already knew was forming. After the second loop I teared up because I just wanted off the bike but quitting was even wires then the pain I was feeling so I moved on and headed back for my last loop. All I kept saying to myself was please God help me get through this and its your last Lap just get to the turn around and youre done with the ride. I didnt let the fact that I still had to run a marathon even enter my mind unto ride was over. At mile 106, I knew ride was almond over I begin to pump myself up for the run. Transition to the run I gave myself a Moment in the tent to gather myself and go to the bathroom, took longer than I wanted but at this point I did t even care anymore. Off to the run my legs surprising felt ok, not bad so I ran as planned 1 mile run 1 minute walk. I did tihis until about mile 13 and then allowed more walking. Initially i wanted to run a 4:30, but with all the discomfort I just decided just run who cares just finish. Although I did run all 26 miles I did do a lot of walking between 20-26 but finish I did. When I was finished I did feel joy but also disappointment knowing its probably the only ironman Ill do for a while was hoping it was a little Better time, but glad its over.
