My nerd confessions! ~Rue 1. My first fandom was twilight (although Im not really a member of it now) when I read the books in third grade. Loved them. (At the time) not a big fan now. 2. My favorite author (at the moment, I change my mind A LOT) would have to be Khaled Hosseini, who wrote the Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and And the Mountains echoed. 3. Hunger games is actually tied for my second favorite fandom. First being How I Met Your Mother (yes its a fandom) and thg is tied with Harry potter. Love it all. 4. I did not really enjoy the fault in or stars all that much. It was good, but John green (as much as I respect him) has a really weird writing style that gets on my nerves. Like, he writes stuff that real teenagers would never say. If that makes sense? (Unpopular opinion. Oops) 5. My fellow admins are the bomb. Seriously, the coolest people youll ever talk to. 6. Originally, I hated JLaw as Katniss. Then I saw The Hunger Games and now I love her, and believe they couldnt have picked a better actress! 7. I just finished reading Carrie by Stephen King. 8. Im debating on whether I should start the girl with the dragon tattoo, lord of the flies, or life of pi next.(help?) 9. I was raised on Stephen King horror films, as my grandma is OBSESSED with him. 10. One book that REALLY messed with my emotions was tPoBaW. 11. Im NOT a big fan of the divergent series. I simply read them because I wanted to know what the hype was about. The characters annoy me. (Unpopular opinion) 12. I absolutely hate when theres hate on the page of people being too young to read The Hunger Games. I read the series in 5th grade and believe I was fully mature enough to do it. 13. My favorite place in the world is books a million. 14. Most of the workers at books a million know my name because I go there at least once a week... 15. Back in 5th or 6th grade I counted my books and I had over 600... Im now in 9th grade and kind of scared to count how many I have now. 16. I dont believe in libraries, I HAVE to own my books. (My grandma is a book collector and she has raised me to believe these things.) 17. Im a fanatic on keeping my books in good shape and I seriously have to go and buy a second copy of a book I already have if it gets damaged in any way... (Awful creases, spills, etc.) 18. A classmate once put a green bean on the the title page of one of my books in the 3rd grade. I cried for like 15 minutes... Lol. 19. In PE I always act like Im participating and usually just read. My gym teacher loves me because she says Im funny, but she always gets on to me for this. And then my friends always say: yeah Sydney, put your book away, it isnt nerd time yet! 20. Ive read The Hunger Games five times, catching fire three, and Mockingjay once. 21. I LOVE the book thief. Ive read it three times. 22. Ive never seen any of the classic Disney cartoon movies. (Lion King, Cinderella, etc.) I refused to watch them because movies bored me to pieces as a kid. So I read the picture books of those movies instead... Ive been told I had a deprived child hood at least 1 million times. 23. I got a typewriter for my birthday last year after reading perks. I used to use it almost every night, until I ran out of ribbon. 24. All throughout elementary school, before I had friends who I texted and my phone meant nothing to me, my mom would always ground me from reading books. So eventually I started hiding all of them in my locker at school, but when that got too full I started hiding them in my friends locker. My mom didnt know about this arrangement until the last day of school when I came home with two bags and a giant stack of books in my arms. That was around the time she started grounding me from other things.
