My number is 9: 1. I am a survivor of Gilliain-Barre Syndrome, of which I had at age 1 1/2. I was paralyzed from the waist on down for a short while and sustained some muscle loss once I regained my feeling/strength. I learned how to walk again at age 3 and wore leg braces until I was 6 1/2. 2. Not letting fact #1 slow me down, I was very involved in athletics in high school and I hold our school record for girls track High Jump by jumping my height at the time. 3. I was also a member of an elite Girls Basketball team from Esmond (Esmond/Maddock) – we reached the State Tournament 8 years IN A ROW. I was on the team 4 years, played in two championship games, but we were not state champs until the year after I graduated! 4. Josh Duhamel’s Grandfather built my childhood home, in rural Esmond. 5. At one time while growing up on the farm, I had 21 cats and knew them all by name. 6. I was sent to the Principals office one time by the fill in teacher, who was the Principal himself…a lot of good that did to go to his empty office! 7. I am the youngest of 6 children. Yup, saved the best for last. 8. My one and only child was born weighing 9 lbs. 11oz. 9. I knew at a very young that I would be my own boss someday. I reached that goal this past July when I went full-time with my own business, DY Photobooth and Digitally Yours, LLC.
