My opinion on Kaththi.. Whenever I see a Vijay movie, subconsciously I always expect an intro scene for him, which should look unique and show his mass presence.Surprisingly in this movie I couldnt find it. And that very instant created a curiosity in me that I might be watching a different Vijay movie altogether. A movie which might not need his screen presence alone to carry the movie for 3 hours, but could also have a powerful script to back it up.. I somehow felt it was completely justified. Before I even proceed to write further, hats off to Anirudh for making it a 3 hr Musical Magic with his BG score and songs :) Every single song whether they appeared at unnecessary times is an individual perspective, but is definitely enjoyable for even the first time listeners. The visuals were complementing too :) Right amount of glamor, pleasant music and Vijays dance doing complete justice to the songs.. His music for fight scenes were commendable too. The movie presented enormous opportunities for showing us Vijay the actor. His dialogue delivery in a scene where he has to speak for 5 minutes continuous is excellent :) His fight sequences I can assure you will rock the theater.. Two in second half I think at around 1 hr 50 mins and 2 hr 3 min mark and one in 1st half at around 49th minute were notable... It had style, decent to good fight sequences and a lot of opportunity for crowd back home to erupt on several occasions. In fact ARM makes a fight where Vijay has to hit around 50 people look possible :) Tough to make it real even by imagination after reading the sentence right? There was a resemblance of Vijay saying a dialogue similar to Bashas Ulley Po. Im not saying this as a complaint that he copied or something but to stress that his voice had the intensity... More noteworthy things I personally found were portraying Vijay as a normal person in many scenes and not as a mass actor. I dont want to say how but you guys can watch it and figure it out. Vijay has given up his mass and has acted as an actor in many scenes. He has done what the script demanded him to do rather than changing the script to suit his mass which I have not observed in most of his recent movies. That was a positive change I observed. This movie can give more scope for Vijay the actor in movies to come. Sentimental scenes were also spot on. I cant believe I was touched in quite a number of scenes. Vijay did emote pretty well. The message conveyed in the movie is again good. They openly talk about 2g case which was again superb. Dialogues in many scenes were too good. The overall message was excellent. All the scenes which people trolled after trailer such as Arisi paruppu Kotthamali karuvaepla and Neil Hero Vijay villain etc had proper justifications in the movie.. Neil Nitin Mukesh was perfect for his role. I somehow think he is a better candidate as a villain than Vidyut Jamwal, who probably was good in Thupaaki. But I somehow like this Neil guy better. Probably I cant generalize for all instances. But just my thought. Understandably in a movie not all are positives. The negative points changes from person to person. For me The movie which started with a decent momentum faded slightly post half an hour mark for 10-15 minutes but again catches up. I actually dont wanna talk about this because Not every minute in a movie can be entertaining.. Yes you can say Second half starts completely irrelevant to first halfs finishing. Yes you can show the instance where a Kaththi kutthu wasnt enuf to kill a person just like in Billa 2 was observed etc etc.. But the good thing was since the majority of the film and finishing scenes of 1st half and 2nd half were good, I feel most people might neglect these small glitches or negatives or logic lapses in the movie and have a good opinion overall :) ARM definitely made the end product a treat for Vijay fans and certainly to people who love entertainment. I doubt if many directors could have delivered the punch with this script. Kaththi engira Kadhiresan, Poojai ku Villadhi Villain.
