My other interesting experience today was that I was outside with Spinner, Itsy and Onyx. In between doing yard chores, I was throwing the ball for the pups. Spinner is the master of getting the ball and Onyx was getting a little frustrated as her style of play is mostly a light hearted frolic with not a lot of drive and determination behind it. Unless you are an foreign intruder approaching HER house or on HER road. But Spinner and Itsy are all about drive and determination. Onyx finally headed towards each of the pups separately. Spinner may appear to be the neighborhood thug, but when actually approached by another dog, his defense is to put a bush in between them. Itsy just gives the evil eye, Yes, she is my dog and the dogs leave her alone. All of a sudden I realized that the pups were working together and circling out on each side of Onyx towards her. I yelled at Onyx and she does have good recall. She started coming towards me and I motioned her on up to the porch. She must have sensed the pups had had it with her and she did as I asked. I walked up to the porch with a pup about 15 feet out on each side of me. Onyx was happy to come in the house. It was an interesting experience. No one has ever fought and there were no growls exchanged, but the pups were clearly tired of Onyxs attitude. Will change them up for a few days.
