My personal true story about burning bridges: One of the most - TopicsExpress

My personal true story about burning bridges: One of the most valuable lessons Ive learned in life is to never burn bridges. Life is truly about managing relationships. Some will not be so great, but we MUST have enough discipline over our emotions to forfeit the temporary satisfaction of going off for the potentially greater long term good. Just because you CAN go there... doesnt mean you SHOULD! Who you handle today , you may need later. Quick example: Had a client once who was amazingly arrogant. Once he disrespected me by hanging up the phone on me when I was calling about payment. 2 years went by and I was at a convention where I connected with a huge client who spent a lot of money with my company and LOVED my work. He introduced me to guy he was about to hire. KD I want you to meet someone were thinking about hiring. Please meet ____. Have you guys met before? Wouldnt you know it? It was none other than Mr Rude & Disrespectful himself! He looked at me like he was about to watch his career go straight down the drain. I simply smiled, shook his hand and said, Yes I know ___! Youve got quite a guy here... definitely has a lot of fight in him! Dude breathed a sigh of relief and they walked off. The next day I got a call from him and he not only paid me more than what was owed, but gave a full apology. Every company he worked at from that point on (of course he was fired alot) he always made sure I got their business... in total, close to 75,000 over the years. Had I burned that bridge just to feel good for a moment, I would have unknowingly walked away from a bigger blessing! Matthew 18:21-22 - Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
