My post yesterday on being a faithful man when I marry (not that I should be unfaithful during courtship) generated quite a buzz up until late last night. With over 50 likes and over 20 shares thats probably the largest viral post Ive ever had on Facebook. That I know of anyway. I also got loads of feedback too, which I appreciated but sadly not all of it was good. Some folks, clearly misunderstood and didnt ask what I meant but jumped right in with messages and comments about not judging people, not giving God His place and focusing too much on self. I had to delete quite a few when they went off tangent and said some very unnecessary things which would stir up pointless debates and arguments. Someone even said Im speaking this way because Im not married. The odd thing for me is, this shows two things I keep saying here on Facebook and whenever I go to preach/teach somewhere. 1. Some folks dont understand what they are seeing (reading) or hearing and just rush in to speak/counter because they just dont like it, it pricks them somewhere or because it goes against something theyve believed all their life. 2. Were now a complacent people. Weve gradually come to accept some things in life as normal and OK and so when we see/hear someone speak out against it, we see people go, please, just wait till you get there. Then youll understand or thats just the way it is. Leave it be. I never said marriage was easy as pie and I even made it clear the post was not to cast down people who failed (apparently they didnt see that part) but that doesnt justify/excuse cheating and at some point it was looking like there could be good reasons for such. As I said then, THIS is what I know to be true from Gods word. Marriage is sacred and shouldnt be toyed with. I am to love and cherish my wife and stay faithful to her till she passes, I do or Jesus returns. That is Gods plan. If others dont believe it or agree, thats fine. I wish them the best. But for those who want to do this Gods way and enjoy it as they should, lets all make up our minds to do so and move forward with His wisdom and grace.
