My prayer for today : Dear Heavenly Father, As we come to you today there are so many events in the news that are causing pain, distress, and uncertainty for so many. We lift up to you the people of Chili who have been hit with this big earthquake. We thank you that so far there has not been a big tsunami. Thank you for protecting them from that possible disaster. We ask for comfort...especially for children and the elderly and those who have lost loved ones and those who have been displaced from their homes. May people feel your presence and your comfort, Lord. We lift up to you the families from the missing Malaysian plane. Father, we ask that you would guide the searchers to find some trace or clue of what has happened, so the families can find some sense of peace. Lord, we dont know what has happened, but you do. We pray that these anguished loved ones of the missing would find comfort from you...we ask for those who dont know you that their eyes would be opened and that they would find you waiting with open arms to hold them and to bind the wounds that now surely must feel like they will never heal. We pray for the families in WA who have lost loved ones and their homes in the landslide in WA...we pray for those with loved ones whose bodies have not been recovered...oh, Father, there is so much pain in these situations and we just ask that you would be so real and so present in all these places...we just ask that each hurting heart might find hope in you and your strength to carry on. Lord, so much happens in this life that we have no control over. All of these events remind us that life can change in a split second...it reminds us that we mustnt take one single day for granted...help us to get our lives and priorities right. Help us not to put off until to tomorrow the things that we need to say and do in our relationships and in our lives. Lord, none of us is guaranteed tomorrow and none of us knows the day or the hour of your return. We should not live in fear, but we should live our lives with an eternal perspective. Lord, for each hurting heart that is praying with us now, we ask for your grace, peace and mercy to rain down upon them. For each person who is ill or in pain, we ask for your healing hand to be upon them. For each person who is in financial need...for those in need of a place to live...in need of a job...in need of resources that they dont have...Lord, please go before them and open doors and smooth the rough roads and please open your store houses on their behalf. Lord, for everyone who is dealing with estranged loved ones, or troubled relationships, Lord, please impart your wisdom and discernment. Please lead and guide them and give them peace and guidance so they will know if they are to keep trying, or just accept what is and walk away knowing they have done all they can do and they now must leave the other person in your hands. Lord, life is hard, but you are good...you are faithful...the enemy is a roaring, prowling lion...always looking for weak and vulnerable areas where he can attack us, but you have removed his teeth, Lord...he has been defeated and he knows it....help us to remember that as well, Lord. Help us to focus on you and not the things we are going through. Help us to be strong with your might...Help us to face the hard stuff in life knowing that we are afflicted, but not crushed and we need not live in despair. Please meet every need, spoken and unspoken we pray, Lord. We thank you in advance for all you will do on our behalf. In the name of our Savior, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
