My principal told me today that I looked so upset yesterday she actually tried to hunt me down after school and see what was going on. She missed me, but I honestly cant remember anything specific that was bothering me. I chalked it up to the extreme stressors in general and left it at that. Columbia had a homecoming parade today and I saw several of my former students who are actively involved in extracurricular activities--many that can transfer into future careers. So nice to see happy, involved, well rounded former students. Then I went to the football game and met yet another former student who is now in a medical charter school working on his EMT certification and AAS degrees while still in high school! It is so awesome that God has brought so many of my former students into my life at a time when Im feeling beat down. I really appreciate the people they are becoming and cherish the fact that I had a hand in their lives. Mostly I appreciate Gods confirmation that I am still standing in the place He wants me. THAT, folks, is why Im a teacher and why I continue to teach--even in the toughest of times!
