My response to the film ... Den 25. Timen OK let’s put it - TopicsExpress

My response to the film ... Den 25. Timen OK let’s put it this way... Nice film in many ways, but rather strange considering how preemtive it is in it’s approach. Yes, let us in Haugaland provoke other Norwegians in pridefully exhibiting why we love where we come from. But is it totally necessary to provoke anyone, and ultimately ourselves in retrospect? You all that come from here have taught me wisely to hold my composure in matters of expression and candour. Well what am I to make of this “stunt”? Should I go back to my “American” ways of behaving and thinking superficially? Impossible… I am integrated now! Do you read me here? I am integrated and damn proud of it and thankful to say the least. Integrated pridefully, socially, mindfully, FULLY! Coming from sunny southern California via Zurich Switzerland and rooting myself in Haugaland wasn’t a matter of necessity, but rather of choice ultimately. If I could bet on it and one could statistically break down all indices relating to “The greatest Safe Haven” on Earth since the beginning of time… I always land back in my findings to this little part of Norway at this juncture in time. Haven like “Havn is harbour in my language and “harbouring” all that we need and more is something all of you Haugalandites are experts at. I would love to see the sequel to this film just showing Harald Martel Bersaas and his wonderful dignified self having an indoor picnic at Karianne Vikse’s amazing home speaking about interior design in our region based on having 25 more crowns to spend on each item you buy or 25 different things you can find along a walk across Karmøy that could be beautiful in a vase on your kitchen table. But no! Some sharp shooters who probably had the opposite of “Writer’s Block” forgot to walk two times around the block and ask the rest of us what we thought… because after all, we are all in this together. And it’s great that big business supports this film and the good work that is being done at Haugaland Vekst, but perhaps a bit wise to understand which basket you are putting your eggs in first. This film, in my opinion, is more a shot in the dark rather than the harnessing of light. What more could one possibly ask for when it comes to raising a family than doing so in a place like this? Across the board, Haugaland is dripping with ingenuity, vision, growth and pride. And beauty to top it off with top notch facilities and offers of every kind! What’s the dilemma actually? Before we know it, we will be even more connected to our brothers and sisters of the North and South. A fictive but realistic look into the near future of a tight knit infrastructure and Haugaland as the eye of the growth storm of tomorrow is the next chain of focus we should be promoting in a film. Not demoting other places whilst blowing or own horn. I’d rather see a family getting off a Ryanair plane, stopping at the top of the stairs and taking in what we all know is so refreshing…. “coming home to Haugaland” air. Not a greedy to get one more hour, knock knock (Who’s there) end to a cliche Red Camera filmed high five we’re an amazing and smart bunch of people with a budget” film. BTW, how great is it to work in Haugesund if Frank Underskog is making his money in another city full of clowns? Those clowns pay his bills and his welfare when he needs it. In other words… move to and buy food in Haugesund and keep your GOOD job and connections in OSLO for example. Seriously? Airports are cool in films, I know… but refine the plot and it’s intention before throwing some quick ideas into a grocery cart of shame. My parents visited me for the first time this summer after 24 years of living in Europe and they are always direct and honest in their views and extra critical in regards to me. After visiting Oslo, Stavanger and Bergen… they said and stated their 25 reasons why there was no doubt that this was the VERY BEST place to live in Norway and concluded by saying that Norway must be the most wonderful gift the God’s could give a planet. You do the math! https://facebook/video.php?v=725918384144831&set=vb.698065533596783&type=2&theater
