My seeming lack of humility came up yesterday, mostly because of a title of Zen Master I gave myself. While doing a search this early morning about humility and Zen, I found another Zen Master who uses Zen Mister. I now like this one better. I have more understanding now about how the word humility and how it is used in Zen teachings. I read again my masters understanding of Zen and found no use of the word humility. We arrive at the same place, but with different words to say the same thing. In my life now, I live moment to moment. I have no beliefs, no identity, no ambition, and no direction. Perhaps I am humble, although I have never used that word before. I am rather joyful most of the time, feel love for everyone, and am quite content in simply being. I like to describe how I am as your cat, the one that sits in the sun on your windowsill, totally relaxed, seemingly asleep yet totally aware of everything. I like to teach what I have learned and I have assisted some people in what I call awakening. I understand what suffering is about and how to move past it. In my view, all that is needed is incredible openness.
