My son Alex is a high school freshman taking a class named Career And Financial Management. For a project, he needed to conduct an interview with someone who works in the field he is interested in pursuing. My son is thinking about becoming a weatherman. So, I figured, let me give it a shot and see if Chris Cimino, the meteorologist for NBC’s Today in New York would do such an interview. Unbelievably, he got right back to me the next morning, and said he would be happy to do a telephone interview. Well, Alex had his interview with Mr. Cimino this morning…and he was just wonderful! He took a lot of time answering all of Alex’s questions, explaining what he does, and how he came to this position. He shared that he knew that he wanted to be a meteorologist since he was a child…either that or play for the Mets! This was especially nice, because Alex is also a Met fan…they had something to commiserate about…lol. Mr. Cimino was every bit as warm and personable as he is on TV. This was a great experience for Alex…and also for my husband and me…we have been watching Chris Cimino every day for over 15 years…it felt like we already knew him.
