My son, Charlie had a special project he had to do in his first grade class. As they begin their social studies unit on family culture and traditions, each student was asked to select one special object to bring to school to show and talk about. The object should represent your family culture or a special family tradition. So he wanted to bring in a Christmas ornament that was handmade by his Great Grandmother, Evelyn Dawn Chase. She made this Angel for me years ago. She delicately made by my Grandmothers hands out of beautiful red beads and safety pins. We hang this sentimental ornament on our tree each Christmas and in remembrance of her. All the children loved the ornament and the story Charlie shared about his Great Grandma. He was so excited to tell us about it tonight. Made me feel so happy.
