My son caught me off guard today. I was laying on the floor and he came and sat next to me. He whispered in my ear, "I want to be like you when I grow up." He has never said anything like that to me before. I always tell him one day he is going to be a man. For him to tell me that he wants to be the kind of man I am is a bit shocking for me. I had no father figure to learn from, so being in a position to teach my sons always keeps me sober minded and grounded in regard to parenting. And there was no man that I wanted to be like or follow after. So I am still amazed that he wants to be like me. I am truly humbled at this thought. Lord continue to help me. Parents your children are watching you. Ask yourself this question, "Am I the kind of person I want my child or children to be like?" Give me your heart, my son, And let your eyes delight in my ways.
